Benjamin, on his weekly stroll to his nearest Apex clinic, has a brief, chance encounter with a strange man, who appears to be clutching tightly to prayer beads. Continuing on to the clinic, and into a doctor’s room, it is revealed Benjamin is a deeply depressed individual, who has been through every form of psychological treatment there is. The young, high-flying doctor prescribes Benjamin Apex’s revolutionary, new treatment as a last resort. He begrudgingly accepts the doctor’s prescription. Two days into the treatment, he is feeling no real effects. A party later that night introduces his long-suffering friend, Lucy, who encourages him to give the treatment another chance. After recreationally abusing the treatment (along with alcohol), the treatment finally has Benjamin’s desired effect - total numbness. But it’s not as simple as that, and the side effects of Apex’s treatment finally emerges…
