Bastion was having an ordinary day a few of the regulars, old gents with less and less hair to cut each time, he was ready to head home and then he enters, that harmless old fool. A completely bald man walks into a barber’s shop his reflection in the butchers window and an irritating fringe have told him, its time for a haircut. Bastion is short film that explores the boundaries between play, imagination and sanity. Adapted from a short prose by Simon Armitage the shards of narrative played out by two actors, one with autism, dance at the boundary between imagination and reality. Images of scissors cutting close to bare skin and a playful witty language invite laughter, which echoes into dark empty spaces.
