A classic boy meets girl romance only this love story has a twist. Mary the beautiful girl Robbie meet in class at college has a secret. She is a transgender woman. Having lost loved ones already in her young life due to being trans she is hesitant to tell Robbie. When she does get the courage he does not take it too well and leads him to do some soul searching. Robbie soon finds out about the stigma placed upon men that love transgender women. Meanwhile Mary deals with her own body issues and her longing for her outsides to match her insides. Mary’s mother Beth is trying her best to support her child but as a struggling single mother she is barely keeping them both above water since her husband and Mary’s father wants nothing to do with them since Mary coming out as transgender. Watching her child struggle with her internal pain because her body does not match how she sees herself hurts Beth but she is powerless to help her. Beth is very protective of Mary and when Mary becomes involved with Robbie she is afraid her child will become one more murdered transwoman.
