This series is actually the true and historically correct story of how “Chester Zoo” one of the UK’s most important and best loved Zoo’s was founded. Although the dialogue was written for the series the events it portrays are as true as are remembered by the people who were there even down to which exact species arrived When from Where even down to the animals nicknames. The Animals that appeared in this were mostly from todays zoo and in a lot of cases are descendants of the original animals they are portraying. No Animals were ever hurt or mistreated during the filming of this series. Chester Zoo is a leading light in the fight against Animal cruelty around the world and also the fight against extincton species caused by those who do. The PC fraternity that accused and complained about the use of the animals on this show should check their facts before launching their unfounded and untrue accusations. I know all theses facts stated above to be TRUE as i live around 25mins drive from Chester Zoo and have friends who work there and were involved in the filming.
