Yes it is no “Good Will Hunting” but that was what I believe the director was trying to put us through, the whole slow, mind-numbing aspect of helplessness in the face of someone you love so very much. The fact he is pulled out of his known/comfort area and set down in a foreign area and country… May I suggest do what I did and watch a “Damon” film and get cleansed if you feel wronged - “(Extended) Martian” “Bourne” films and a different flavor any “Oceans” films.
