That IS not a shallow reason! This is a very true reality, that I wish wasn’t. I would like to see older women valued in mainstream shows/films more too, and not just independent or indy films.
My point was we are severely lacking shows (especially geared toward young women) with characters that are complex and diverse.
This show has women of all ages. They are strong, they are layered and whether you consider them pretty or not, they are not exploited for their looks or showed off to be attractive. That’s not the point of the show and it’s a pity to miss out on it just because the three cast members on the posters happen to be young and pretty.
Dismissing women for being attractive is about as bad as discarding them if they are not.
