Though I’m in the minority here, this version of Cruella didn’t remind me at all of the unredeemable intent and sheer repulsion Cruella was made with and clearly possessed in the original 101 Dalmatians and the books by Dodie Smith. (By the way, Cruella deVile her was a play on THE WORDS “Cruel Devil” to mean she had NO redeeming qualities whatsoever and was completely reprehensible). I found the constant narration imposing.Emma Stone’s forced, fake English accent unbelievable. A lot of the props are from the wrong time period as well. Whatever happened to the puppies?? Cruella was all about cruelty, and the puppies. For me, and this is only my opinion, it failed spectacularly. I still recommend everyone watch for themselves and decide.
