based on a true story (can mean so many things especially with a disney interpretation ) and not always accurate - watch the 8 min clip on youtube to get the true life story of ivan - i hated this so much - dont see the funny side of this at all i saw was cages and performing animals -the only good bit is right at the end when u see how much space ivan got at the zoo and the real clips- after 27 years in a cell -and there is review on imdb from some one who saw ivan and recalled how unhappy he actually was
I can’t and won’t watch movies like this. They break my heart and piss me off. What a tale his thoughts would tell. And yes, Gordon Lightfoot’s song inspired that last sentence.
