I tried to watch Reprisal, pretending to be something else, noir, game changer, fell asleep, it’s trying too hard, but 18 years ago this movie, put the bar so high, that nowaday it’s hard to find more disturbing. A real masterpiece, definitely not for everyone, not trying to mess you up gently like nowadays, this will stay under your skin forever. I recall newspaper and medias were utterly crossed about this movie. Try Enter the Void as well as La Fabuleuse Aventure de Mister X (vimeo has it, Fr title but almost no dialogue). There was a time when experimentation was real and pretended up by Netflix nor Hulu. He who lived it or now trying to expend your mind might be able to bring some kind of new wave and bring back the boldness in the movie industry, not trying to please to everyone/Chinese.
