I’m a fan of Scandinavian stories, but this one did little for me. Too pretentious, with lots of stony, calculated silences when situations called for PLENTY of dialogue and crucial explanation between characters; way too much so-extraneous-it-amounts-to-red-herring subplotting thrown in; and my least-fave device—-people slapping, punching, spitting, shoving, cursing at, even shooting at others, only to 20 minutes later be speaking to those same persons again like normal everyday business. The only really good thing about the show was the stark, frigid beauty of northern Norway…so cold it wafts out of the screen at the viewer. I absolutely must travel there one day. The actors weren’t a bit uncomfortable, going about in the ice and snow; into the sea; camping outdoors in the woods; sometimes undressed….Very hardy people.
