This film is based on a 2017 Israeli film of the same name. They both are listed as comedy dramas. I did not see comedy, unless one considers watching people going off the deep end funny. There are five stages of grief. It seems to me denial and bargaining play heavily in the motivation of Gereโs character after discovering he had a son and the son is now dead. Although I enjoy watching Gere as an actor, I think he was too old to be cast as a father of a son conceived 20 years ago. As for the story. it was just strange enough to hold my interest .About two thirds through, it takes a turn close to certifiable.
