My source of education on this matter was the Greek vocalist Diamanda Galas. Her 2003 album Defixiones, Will and Testament is all about it & she’s given a number of interviews about it, as well as about genocide in particular & even written a book. Her choice of the word Defixiones itself is explained. Her vocals are very extreme & have been used in films such as Bram Stoker’s Dracula & The Last Of England with Tilda Swinton.
