Holy cow! I had goosebumps the entire time. What a hot band they were at their peak. And this was their peak. Glenn Frey and Randy Meisner with the voices of angels. Don Henley with the grit in his. Don Felder, the consummate guitarist and Joe Walsh, always the cool joker. They had a blast with Rocky Mountain Way! This was some of the best of the 70’s.
P.S. Did I mention the amazing harmonies? Well, I will.
Yes, the late 60’s and the 70’s brought in a new sound. I was in high school during the 70’s and watching American Bandstand was a Saturday ritual for me and my brother. And Friday night was the midnight special. That is where I saw Rod Stewart for the 1st time. Never could get into Soul Train though. I was lucky enough to see the Eagles perform at a Walmart stockholders meeting. And ironically, today is the Walmart stockholders meeting and glad I don’t live in the area! Traffic is a nightmare the whole week.
