It jumped the shark a bit and was a little more absurdist in concept but at least we can be thank full it was a British version and not another show bastardized and dummied down for the lowest common denominator by an American network ???
I heard there is an american as well as a possible german version both in the early stages of development… I agree the brits make really good “noir-ish” serials, 2nd only to the Scandinavians. The american versions of The Bridge and The Killing were ok. The Tunnel (The British/French show based on The Bridge) was really good for the most part. CBS/NBC and ABC in America churn out “procedurals” for the masses, some are pretty good, some suck. Our newer networks in America (AMC,FX,Fox) etc… have put out some really awesome original series. I try not to get too attached… If I truely like a show it usually winds up getting cancelled!
