Mid-way through the Finale and can say I’ve enjoyed this as much as I’ve enjoyed many of my favorite seasons of the US version. I wasn’t sure I’d like that just two go to final tribal (though I know US has done that but usually does the finale three) but I did like it. That lends to even more weight and power to that final immunity challenge and that winner’s decision who to take with them and a fascinating opportunity for the remaining two to powerfully speak their pitches to them and in front of the jury. This brings another level of strategy to the game. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone (I was careful to be general), so enough said, and I’ll get back to watching the second half.
I just finished season 8 and BOO! George is the greatest Survivor player ever. The jury was just butthurt because he put 8 of the 9 members of the jury up there.
Again: BOO! The jury sucked!
PS. I don’t think all the jury actually knew he was behind their evictions
Yes!!! He totally is! Honestly never seen anyone quite like him in any reality competition type show! My heart broke for him. I’m hoping the jury really didn’t, and won’t, know how brilliant he really was till they watch the series back. I still believe they based their votes on who they liked more rather than who played the best game. Yeah, jury sucked big time :/
He took the crown from Russell.
I don’t know who Russell is.
Ohhh you mean the USA Survivor Russell? Yeah he did ;)
I recommend other newcomers start on Season 4 and go from there. I was hesitant at first and didn’t know where to start after being a big fan of US Survivor. The differences between AU and US Survivor can take some getting used to.
AU Survivors play for 49 days and the episodes are 1 hour long. Because of that there can be a lot of filler and overproduction in the show. The bonus is that you see a lot more of camp life and see a lot more strategy & what they do for fun in the meantime. Don’t be afraid to skip ahead of parts you don’t care for, especially in the early eps. I think AU has more interesting challenges, although more physical & dangerous, and that the twists are better as well.
I had no idea AU Survivor was so good! Lots of great stories, personalities, and gameplay. The ozzies are alright. Finishing Season 6 now
ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS !!!!!!!! Aussies rock in reality tv shows. Always brutally raw and compelling. The players - have cunning and scheming powers that no other Survivor show dares to even come close to. Bravo the winner as well Congratulations on a most deserving win !!!!! What a SEASON !!
Yes, Aussie reality shows are always the best! (I’m not Aussie lol)
I specially adore their versions of Married at First Sight and Big Brother. Then there’s The Block which is the best makeover show, although back before that I did adore Extreme Makeover: Home Edition USA. It was weird in the 1st season of Aussie Survivor though cos there were no immunity idols at all and I think they are a crucial part of the game. So happy they changed that.
Agreed ^^^ I never saw the Aussie BB or the Block but the MAFS has been a lot of fun lol We’ve had some really colourful characters,no doubt but Speaking of MAFS - the new season from the UK has been wild !!- lol check it out !
Ohh ok!! I did start watching it, 2 eps, before I had to travel abroad for work so plainly I have some catching up to do ;)
this all star season (7) is AWESOME!!!!!!… can’t wait for next episode.
Middle of S6 ep. 6 (first season I’ve watched of Au Survivor) and have to admit, I am liking the Au version even better than the US version (and I’m a long time fan of the US version). The challenges all are so consistently more “challenging,” similar but yet noticeably different, than the US version’s, and very well thought out. The production and the editing of the show are top notch. The editing is pretty cool, I’m liking the contestants back stories being shown, the side interviews in real time, and the humor and game play back at camps. And many of the contestants are avidly in it to win it, which makes for an exciting season even early on. I also prefer what they don’t show, to keep you, the viewer, still enough surprised at tribal council and at the vote. The editing is clever and thought out. Also, I do not like when you do not get to see after tribal, who votes what, and so far they’ve shown it. And, the host is just as good as Jeff on the US version. And, the venue, aka island, they are on in S5 is spectacular to look at. And, over all, I think the editing is more balanced out than the US version, so that the viewer gets the whole experience, the social aspects, the relationships, the personalities, the individual styles of game play, the sleeping, cooking, eating, playing, etc. and weather conditions. Whereas on many of the US season’s they’ll focus on some of the aspects and at times actually ignore everything else.
I’m also watching the African version, and well in my opinion, it’s watchable, somewhat enjoyable but has a ways to go, to get my praise.
I am giving this version of survivor a shot because of your review!
Yay! I do hope you enjoy it.
very good show
awsome
When does the All Stars season start, and will it be posted here?
You likely already have the answer, but just in case… Season 7, All Stars, started Feb 3rd and yes it’s posted here!!!! I love, LOVE this version of Survivor. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Let the Survivor AU games begin! (Well continue) I’m so cheesy/silly, lol. Take care! ❤
It only aires twice a week.
amazing that those three made it soooooo long on that horrendously challenging final immunity challenge, just wow. I am disappointed that some of the best game players are now sitting on the juror but that is quite frankly how it often does play out. I was team Harry.
