Martin Bohm is a widower and single father who is haunted by an inability to connect to his emotionally challenged 11-year-old son Jake. But when Martin discovers that Jake can predict events before they happen, everything changes. Martin meets social worker Clea Hopkins and Professor Arthur Teller who may have the keys to help unlock Jake's mind.

Whenever people are trying to take your child away from you, all you need to do is move to a different State. The State Law ends at the border. I have seen it all before, and I have seen a family escape the system, and not lose their child.

Here’s another show that gave us a mesmerizing, cleverly-written and plotted package of fascinating episodes in its first season, only to relapse into formulaic drivel in its second. It was as if the writers couldn’t come up with more new ideas to sustain that level of Jake-magic that had hooked us initially.
