Here’s another show that gave us a mesmerizing, cleverly-written and plotted package of fascinating episodes in its first season, only to relapse into formulaic drivel in its second. It was as if the writers couldn’t come up with more new ideas to sustain that level of Jake-magic that had hooked us initially.
