In the first episode, Charlie travels to the far north-west of Scotland and the dramatic island of Lewis and Harris, where he visits a modern thatched home shaped like a giant letter S. He also sees an eco-barn inspired by a chicken coop; a chapel that's been converted into an artist studio and house; and a once-derelict Highland white house that's been lovingly restored. Finally, Charlie visits a contemporary broch, a variation on the ancient stone watchtowers that dot the landscape of the island. |
