Before there were parenting blogs, trophies for showing up and peanut allergies, there was a simpler time called the '80s. For geeky and movie obsessed youngest child Adam, these were his wonder years, and he faced them armed with a video camera to capture all the crazy. The Goldbergs are a loving family like any other -- just with a lot more yelling. Mom Beverly is a classic "smother," an overbearing, overprotective matriarch who loves her delicious kids, but still rules this brood with 100% authority and zero sense of boundaries. Dad Murray is gruff and sometimes oblivious, parenting with half his attention span but all his heart. Sister Erica is popular and terrifying, doing her best to cover up that she's the smartest of the clan. Barry is a passionate dreamer, who maybe dreams a little too big and who always gets the short end of the stick. Adam is the youngest, a camera-wielding future director who's navigating first love, and growing up with his family. Rounding out the family is beloved grandfather Al "Pops" Solomon, the wild man of the clan, a shameless Don Juan who's learning as much from his family as he teaches them. |

It’s a good show but it has lost its way. The kids are all too old now and with the loss of Pops…it’s sadly time to pull the plug.
And no more Jeff Garlan (yet the show has been renewed…. because… Satan).
I hadn’t heard about that. Wow! I guess he was just like his grouchy character in real life..maybe worse. DEFINITELY time to pull the plug!
Yeah, the actor who plays the youngest kid is 22! Better end it soon, so the actors who play the parents are still alive for the reboot.
There will be no reboot of this with the original actors. In 20 years, they’ll remake it with an all black cast. =) lol
Nah! A one ethnicity/color cast will be extremely old school. All entertainment, by law, will require a representative for each race, sexual, gender, color, mammal, sea life, bird, flower, tree, food and whatever else the creatures formerly known as humans will identify with.
damn, that’s one of the most ignorant, asinine dumb af things I’ve seen commented on this site lol. Tell me what show in ever has done that, please.
So you guys are upset they released one show with the same title as an old show, but it’s about a different viewpoint? Sounds about right, far right. Kinda simple, if you don’t like something, don’t watch it, right?
How does someone not know that The Goldbergs was just basically a rip off of The Wonder Years, but set in the 1980’s?? At least the Wonder Years knew when it was time to pull the plug.
Kids grow up, that’s how life works. I enjoy the show without expecting it to defy physics and aging lol
I gave this show a go about a year ago and the pilot was just too stupid for words, so I passed it up. Running across it yesterday I decided to give it another try just to make sure it’s a stinker before giving up on it. Well.. to my surprise it does get a lot better and it has some really heart warming moments, not to mention, it really does do a great job of expressing the era of the 80s… So after 14 episodes I will rate it three out of five which warrants it binge worthy.
Did not enjoy one bit.
