What a gem! how did I miss this.. some of the best TV I have seen in a while 5/5
Absolutely love this show! It has such heart and soul. Lovely. Could re-watch it any time!
A lovely, low-key, slyly funny show. If you like lots of action, you won’t like it; if you’re happy with well-written characters, esp. eccentric ones, this is for you.
And an fyi about the lyrics for the theme: “loamy earth,” not “lonely earth”! Bugs me to see that error in the subtitles — and dismays me that language is being degraded daily by the intertubes.
I believe that this is because they took the captioning jobs away from humans and gave them to A.I. Captions will always be s—t from this day on.
I love this too. You ought to watch Worzel Gummidge, it’s much the same, Mackenzie Crook in a field - but this time he has a turnip for a head…
God, this show is a breath of fresh air…funny, understated, quiet, interesting. Mackenzie Crook knew what he was doing with this one.

No doubt about it! I watched when it first came out and recommended to a bunch of people but they were too stupid to appreciate it. It’s my fav.
Agree! When I found this I just loved every minute of it - and I told so many people to watch… of course, none of them did. Their loss. Might be time for a re-watch. Thanks for the reminder.

What a gem!
Don’t know how I came upon this but glad I did. Very nice with its little puns and qips. The first two episodes are kinda slow not knowing where it’s going but after that it just flew by. It is one of those shows that is so well done you become apart of it. Now I want a metal detector and become a Detectorist! Great show, shame it is only 3 seasons long but ended well. Cheers
