Written by Arthur C. Clarke and hailed as a revolutionary work of science fiction since its publishing in 1953, Childhood's End follows the peaceful alien invasion of Earth by the mysterious "Overlords," whose arrival begins decades of apparent utopia under indirect alien rule, at the cost of human identity and culture. |

WOW! I like this waaaaaay more than A.C.Clarke’s other story. 2001 a Space Odyssey. Super emotional joy ride. Highly recommend to Sci Fi fans.
The 2 can’t really be compared as 2001 was based on a short story by Clarke, The Sentinel, but was written as a screenplay by Kubrick and Clarke. Clarke then wrote a novelisation of that screenplay which was published after the release of the movie.
That said though, this has always been my favorite Clarke book. I read it the 1st time when I was 12 and it blew my mind. This is the book that made me fall in love with science fiction.
Yeah, Clarke’s one of the best.
What a great show
it never goes well when aliens mess with humans.
You know what’s hilarious—in a certain ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS Eppie., they called out Charles Dance as the star of JESUS CHRIST II, the sequel…ROTFLMFAO…connect the dots
I have always liked this but it seemed as if it was propaganda dressed up as Sci-Fi or maybe the other way around. Still a good watch and recommend you give it a go. I never read the book. I would like to see it not as a made for tv version, but knowing crazywood would just mess it up some how.
Wow! That’s what I call, “More bang, four your buck.”
