Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s only sci-fi piece was this two-part television movie that appeared only once in 1973, until recently found. it’s an early film dealing with the sci-fi concept of virtual reality. The subject became really popular in the late 90s with the mega-hit The Matrix and several other more cultish flicks like Dark City, eXistenZ and The Thirteenth Floor (which was actually based on the same novel as World on a Wire).
An immersive and visual masterpiece! 4/5 Robo-Stars
