As he goes to get help, the young girl disappears. Manue and Johanna, both local gendarmes and mothers of the children involved in the tragedy, lead the investigation in a community of farmers in full transformation. And while they unearth conflicts of interest and family secrets, the stakes of the investigation gradually come to impact their own families.
