Point deducted for inaccurately ascribing Al-Khwarizmi as the source of the concept of zero. Given the topic, it seems inevitable that the Fibonacci sequence and the golden ratio will be mentioned as well. I love maths.
Can you explain what is inaccurate?
I think I’m passing on this show. I’m not intrigued by the pilot enough to go on the journey. A shame. I love hidden treasure, secret societies and maths. I’m over the mean, anti-social genius stories.
The concept of zero as a number originated in India, 3 centuries before Islamic scholars like Al-Khwarizmi translated Indian mathematical texts and started incorporating it into their work.
That said, I’m enjoying the series. As I already stated though, I’m a bit of a math junkie and this also has a Dan Brown conspiracy vibe, IMO, that I like as well.
Yep. Al-Khwarizmi made the concept accessible to the West, but he didn’t come up with it.
Thanks!
I agree with you. The story could be interesting but the main characters are not.
