In East Kent, dinner party veterans Mike and Helenor kick off the competition with a sophisticated menu including wild garlic from the local churchyard and a risky bonus ingredient of sweetbread. Loved-up couple Rob and Jade are impressed with the posh nosh, but married childhood sweethearts Caroline and Tony can't get Mike's resemblance to a famous comedian out of their minds. Day two sees Rob and Jade put together a Thai-inspired menu, but Mike and Helenor are suspicious of Rob's story of why he loves Thai food. Band frontman Rob tries to claw things back with a good old sing song. Finally, it's the turn of visually impaired Caroline and her easy-going husband Tony. Will the made-from-scratch food be enough to overthrow their rivals and bag them a grand? |
