Monsieur Spade centers around the infamous protagonist of American writer Dashiell Hammett's 1930 classic novel The Maltese Falcon. The year is 1963, and the legendary Detective Sam Spade is enjoying his retirement in the South of France. By contrast to his days as a private eye in San Francisco, Spade's life in Bozouls is peaceful and quiet. But the rumored return of his old adversary will change everything. Six beloved nuns have been brutally murdered at the local convent. As the town grieves, secrets emerge, and new leads are established. Spade learns that the murders are somehow connected to a mysterious child who is believed to possess great powers. |

Off to a good start. Sam Spade in 1963 France.
Have a look at the trailers. The French scenery and the house he lives in are beautiful. The first episode in the last 7 minutes, sets up the case he will be following.
I was on the same boat, finally I did episode 1 good so far..
Clive Owen is very, very good in this. It is in the same vein as the recent retelling of Perry Mason. Looking forward to the next episodes.
exactly i got a perry mason vibe, intriguing characters, slow emotional depths, and a whodunnwhat - oh right its the slow jazz horn.. also sin city again.. that poverty noir of tangibility
I didn’t have time to watch the trailer yesterday but just watched it and now I’ve really got to watch this in January!
Ok This is an integral part of the new “TOOL and HANDYMAN” trend..
This Tool is close friend with the “gardner” and the “Beekeeper” all sharing the same shed so to say.
The new cinematic “Tool/Hammer universe.” We have from Marvel studios noticed an falloff in our ticket sales and noticed this peculiar takeup in homestead Diy interest. We wish you a happy coming next 5 years with The Rake, Hammer Happy, Mr Nail, New Exiting Backyard Shed Rendezvous with Shovel and Stick and their naughty Podlings, and of corse Bonkers in the Bucket with Britt Lawnmover.
I want some of what you’re smoking.
I’m in a hospital bed with 4 cracked neck vertebrae and 2 bone brakes in the left leg after a frontal crash last Monday. So no smoking here just a broken nose. And FYI before you make painmeds jokes, I went trough this without any pain meds. The pain meds they use here is the cheap bufeen…bla bla based ones, that is also anti inflamatory. When using theese after such massive body trauma, it kills of the macrofages in massive amounts and releases big amount of junk that can deposit on the heart valves. I’m an old dude and can die from such. Meds are dangerous and kills. But I already roll around in a wheelchair pestering the nurses. So I survived that one. But the car went to total s**t. but yeah it would be nice with a joint thou.
sorry to hear that. wish you a rapid and full recovery.
wishing you a speedy healing.
great show, clicking next episode and it not being out yet sucked.
Cara Bossom rocks my socks on this show.
I think I might watch this…..
Me too. My mom and dad had a lot of the old books, and I read some when I was younger. This looks like it would be interesting.
Ok not crazy about subtitles, but the 1st episode got Me it began a bit slow but I’m so ready for more.
