In 1969, life in San Francisco consists of free love, communal living and political protest. Freewheelin' Franklin Freek, Fat Freddy Freekowtski, Phineas T. Phreakers and their mischievous, foul-mouthed cat, Kitty spend their days dodging many things — the draft, the narcs and steady employment – all while searching for an altered state of bliss. But after partakking of a genetically mutated strain of marijuana, the Freaks wake up 50 years later to discover a much different society. Quickly feeling like fish out of water in a high-tech world of fourth-wave feminism, extreme gentrification and intense political correctness, the Freaks learn how to navigate life in 2020 — where, surprisingly, their precious cannabis is now legal. |

Dope will get you through times of no money, better than money will get you through times of no dope!
Never heard of this until your comment brought it to my attention. After reading who’s on the cast I can hardly wait to watch it now.
I keep hoping for a genetically mutated strain of marijuana that will take me back to 1969!
Keed spills!
i mean peed skills
no no speed kills that’s it
My cat’s names are Freewheelin FranklinFat Freddie and my wee Finius Freak unfortunately died at 5 wks old
My 2 lads before that were, of course, Cheech and Chong
Never heard of this before either! Lol
…wish he’d left out those onions though.
Freaky onions.
Almost like a Nick Cannon sneak freaky talent.
Fabulous and furry!
What a total Bummer! Not the show though, it’s actually quite delightful, but I just remembered that the Doobie Bros. broke up! or was that The Everly Brothers? The Chambers Brothers? Jan & Dean? were they even brothers? Hmmmm……… Anyway, like I was sayin’, if you want your brown bread soft and airy and not all dense and horrible, you gotta soak them grains for a few hours or else them hard, sharp edges will will deflate your beautiful loaf!
How weird, My Older brother was locked up in the ELLIS unit In Texas. On my 16th bday ( Nov 14th ) he sent me a colored drawing of these cats. Soon after he sent the cartoon books and i was introduced to this groups of Funigans, also Dr atomic and Mr. natural, And now I see this dropped on my bday a few days back… Its like my liver released an old previously taken chemical and I’m on my own cosmic trip. too weird
what a crazy ! i like it
Wasn’t sure I was going to like the show because I don’t like Pete Davidson and find drug humour to be pretty lazy in general. Watched it because I like John Goodman and Woody Harrelson enough to give it a try (and was slightly familiar with the comic on which it was based). Even though the drug humour is, as expected, pretty low-hanging fruit comically, and there are A LOT of fart jokes, the satire inherent in the “1969 hippies wake up in 2020” balances out the lazier material. Enjoyed enough to watch season 2 if that happens.
Inquiring minds want to know.
