I heard great things about TGOHS from fans of the manhwa (Korean “manga” comics), so I decided to check it out, as you can’t go wrong with a series about fighting, right? BUT - I just can’t get to grips with all the red noses, though! It looks like everyone is alcohol-dependent. Perhaps they could have have made their noses red after the characters got punched around a bit..?
FWIW, I am informed by the fanbase that the manhwa has the red noses as part of the aesthetic. OK, fair enough, but I can’t get over it myself, so I’ll pass on this one. There’s plenty of other battle-oriented shows I could be watching instead, so it’s no loss to me. A pity, as it seemed well-executed in many other ways.
I wouldn’t discourage anyone from taking this series up, though, if you can overlook the stylistic angle.
As a famous fighter once said: “Could have been a contender”…
