The comments on this show are out of left field. I’m guessing the Sophia Bush comments are about her coming out about abuse she dealt with on her two major shows - Chicago PD and One Tree hill. Jason Isaacs doesn’t have the best reputation so who knows what will come out next.
The show is good and premieres a lot of well known Canadian talent - the character’s mother, best friend and subordinates to name a few. In terms of vibes I will say this fills the void that Saving Hope left behind — if you’re familiar with Canadian family friendly medical dramas. It also has the drama of Transplant.
Side note~ I did not realize the Korean version -The Good Doctor was the premise that led to this show. I will go back and watch it. I ignored the Korean version because I thought it was the precursor to the American show The Good Doctor — which is an awful awful awful show where an actor does a really bad version of an autistic doctor by playing exactly the same way he did in Bates Motel. I
The Korean version of The Good Doctor was the premise for The Good Doctor not Good Sam.
Ok that’s what I thought….I was following another comment left here.
👍🏼
What I I wrote earlier was to reply to this comment. I totally disagree with you about the show the good doctor. It is an amazing show, and I love the acting, the actors and the plot.
You are entitled to your opinions but they are limited if you didn’t take in the rest of what I said or watch the other show. Autistic people ARE PEOPLE and reducing them to rocking in place, having loud outburst and avoiding eye contact isn’t great acting. He is playing nearly the exact same character he played in Bates Motel. A psychopath and an autistic person should not have nearly the exact same mannerisms and attributes.
LOL
The music for this show really is so bad and ruins the feel for what’s going on
Completely agree with you, the music is over loud and invasive, it plays even when they’re talking making it hard to hear the dialogue. Over-use of music usually implies a weak script with music used to move the narrative along to make up for poor writing. I found GOOD SAM rather dull, poor acting, nothing new and that awful music.. not a good start! I won’t be watching further eps :((x
I read an article today about Sophia Bush and I decided right then and there I wasn’t going to watch this drama. I like Jason Isaacs and generally like anything that he is in but won’t be watching it. I was rather surprised they gave this drama a name close to The Good Doctor. Haven’t watched that medical drama either.
I watched S1 of The GOOD DOCTOR when it came out and enjoyed it, but then i watched the original Korean version.. it’s very ‘Korean’ (obv) but SO much better than the US remake. If you can manage the subtitles i’d def recommend it if you like medical dramas :))x
If you would like to know where you can watch the Korean version AND the Japanese version (with subtitles) of The Good Doctor, send me a PM.
I happen to love that show, the good doctor, I have watched it since the beginning. I totally disagree with you about the poor acting as well, I have no idea why you would even think this way.
Sounds like another predictable main stream medical drama
Since this has ended, does the ended end good or does it end on a bad note. Is it worth the binge watch or should I skip it?
