Started well but turned to mush imo.
Thank you for manipulating my sub-conscience, my friend.
A pretty good watch if you can get through the long dialogue between the characters. 4/5 stars.
slow burner but so worth it. Great show
Not only was this a super slow but somewhat interesting burn but I’ve never seen a community of such a bunch of Dummies who don’t know their butt from a hole in it. Pathetic bunch of idiots who deserved that crap… lol
That’s hilarious.
An absolute mess of a series. Starts off good and quite disturbing and then just gets progressively more absurd and nonsensical after the first episode. Its like the writer stopped taking their meds after the writing the first episode. The characters spontaneously break out into these ridiculously long monologues all the time. Seriously, there must be like 10-15 monologues per episode. The whole thing watches like the unbearable creation of a schizophrenic on cocaine. Jesus, I feel like watching that has actually negatively effected my own mental health.
Hell,i thought it was just me. Agree it could move a lot faster. And those 10+ minute conversations are ridiculous. But i got 2 more episodes to go so i hope for a decent climax ending atleast.
aye one can hope…
Definitely not just you. If they would have left this as a horror movie surrounding an island community of isolated, overzealous Christians slowly turning in on themselves it would have been profound. Bev Keane was easily the most frightening character and could’ve held up a movie like that. And Hamish Linklater (Father Paul) has done dark and creepy so well in past roles that portraying him as a misguidedly “good” person this time was truly a waste. I can sit through slow. I can sit through long monologues. What pains me in series like this one the most is all the things it could have been.
Well put.
Umm, I guess they’ve never heard of holes, caves, using lumber to make shade, or even just a few of their clothes spread over them. Liked it but the writers got lazy with he last few episodes.
Be prepared for some long ass monologues.
This part caught my attention, From Netflix: From The Haunting of Hill House creator Mike Flanagan, Midnight Mass tells the tale of a small, isolated island community whose existing divisions are amplified by the return of a disgraced young man (Zach Gilford) and the arrival of a charismatic priest (Hamish Linklater). When Father Paul’s appearance on Crockett Island coincides with unexplained and seemingly miraculous events, a renewed religious fervor takes hold of the community — but do these miracles come at a price?
The best thing I’ve watched this year. You can definitely see the influence of Shirley Jackson and Stephen King in Flanagans’ writing.
this show is really good, super layered and well made, well thought out.
It’s like Stranger Things meets Twin Peaks imo
WOW !!! A new take on something old. The last episode really hit me in the feels.
This was a fun watch barring the painful monologues. Wonder why no one questioned if that thing was a vampire or a demon? They just assumed its an angel.
This series is surprisingly good
Zach Gilford appeared in season 16 of Criminals Minds: Evolution and he does know how to play the disturbed guy rather well. But after reading comments on this series, I may pass up watching it.
I’m on second episode. I’m not saying its a Steven king remake or a copy, but they are at least channeling the same arc types. they also have a prefect copy of nurse ratchet. not from king but she adds a creepy flavor.
Finally got around to watching this, I thought it was really good. Give it a shot if you’re holding out like I was. Plus it doesn’t hurt that it’s done by the Flanagans (behind most of the haunting series you know of). I enjoyed most of the dialogue but at some point it became an annoying drivel by the main guy. I think they meant it to be annoying though, so good job to them. My only issue was that when things began to unravel it happened too quickly. I feel like they could easily have slipped in another episode to flesh things out a bit more, but that’s me. Watch for yourself.
Is this originally a book, because I’m a bit confused. I watch all 7 parts then looked a few things up online and it appears a LOT more happened after the church doors were flung open. Here’s what is missing apparently ———- Erin is ambushed by the vampire in the finale as Hassan rounds up a team to burn the nest down. She pulls a knife out of one pocket and starts cutting its wing as it feeds ———- Where is THAT in the Netflix episodes?
“Two shade’s”… of gray in a bucket of black and white paint absolutely amazingly well rite!!!
Might be good, like warrior nun, my youngest daughters boyfriend wont let her watch that one, but their loss, I gave that one a try & loved it. So I will try this one also
Well, I must say it kept me watching, however, I didn’t care for the ending, and the fact that nobody mentioned “the problem” they were facing and its proper term.
5/5 for the start, 1.5/5 for the end, so, I guess, 3/5 for the series.
The show looks awesome. I’ll be waiting for better rips though. I don’t want to watch with a microscope.
