its so funny how you can always spot the most racists folks by how quick they are to point out that slavery existed elsewhere and not just in America lol
facts are racist?
I always like to think you can spot the fascist morons by how quick they are to attack person
Or they try to compare indentured servitude (how many Irish and other nationalities paid for their passage to America back then) to chattel slavery (generational, no end). Yes there was some similarities but to say they were the same thing is like saying cats and dogs are they same because they’re both pets. That one always gets me.
Just because there was no Irish slavery in America doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, the vast majority of deniers are those who benefited from the exploitation of the Irish.Gaslighting is a common occurrence when this subject is discussed, massive media and political institutions both downplay the importance of certain elements of world history, while inflating others.
For those of us who are critical of the contemporary world, this is nothing new. And yet the lengths the worldwide media has gone to try erase the exsistence of Irish slaves is truly shocking. For the sake of argument I won’t consider the barbaric practice ‘Indentured Servitude’ as a form of slavery just like Anglo interlocutors.
While my belief that this handicap imposed on me by our so called ‘intellectual’ class is an unjustifiable one, borne largely out of anti-european hatred, it is nevertheless a handicap i can live with.
Irish slaves have existed in one form or another since the genesis of Irish as an identity. Just a few examples, slave caste daer fuidhir,Vikings and their thralls,Barbary corsairs,Ottoman Empire etc
In conclusion, the Irish were most certainly slaves and any attempt to say otherwise is blantantly false. There is more to history other than American history but thats all that seems to matter.
Irish slavery is being used against ‘white’ Americans as a weapon and has nothing to do with Irish people at all.
Ultimately, the very same people who are descended from those who exploited this Island for centuries are now using that very history to subdue another group.
shocking but not surprising how dishonest this documentary is . No mention of the fact the vast majority (over 90 %) of slaves were enslaved by other Africans and traded by Africans to the western slavers or the fact that the transatlantic slave trade likely wouldnt have existed without that . slavery was and still is abhorrent but ignoring the facts in order to push a particular narrative does noone any favours and this series does just that
It leaves out a lot of juicy details. Like how the Portugese showed up with their firearms in search of gold and used intimidation to exploit the local slave trade. A slave trade, I might mention, that was vastly different from what the American slave trade would become. Enslaved people in that region has some rights and opportunities. Slavery in the US would take the horrific practice to new lows.
I guess the US deserves a pat on the back because their treatment of slaves was so abhorent that the ones that sold them the slaves had a change of heart and then sought to abolish slavery. Naturally, those same hypocrites then went on to use the abolition of the slave trade as a means to enslave an entire continent via colonization. Caucasians are tricky af.
Yeah, ignoring ‘all’ the facts in order to push a particular narrative does no one any favors. Nor does it absolve anyone from their part in it to shift blame.
so, but there are still slaves in Africa AND the U.S. never colonized Africa.
No one can defend the way slaves were treated in american but I can assure they were treated far worse in many african countries and still are to this day . in some african tribes slaves were treated almost like family but the african slave traders who traded with westerners treated their slaves horribly , Slavery has been all over theworld for thousands of years , infact for all of recorded history . African and muslim slavers had been selling slaves to the greeks and romans for centuries and were raiding the British coast into the 19th century for slavesyet for some reason the dominant and fascist left wing want us to believe slavery only existed since the transatlantic slave trade and that western europeans started it which simply is not true , the truth is the first slaves taken across the atlantic were sold to europeans by Africans , Ask yourself why Alex Haley lied so much in his plagerised fictional novel “roots” and left out the fact that if his descendents were who he said they would almost certainly not have been “kidnapped” by white slavers as his book said but sold into slavery by other Africans
as bad or almost as bad as what happened to The Aboriginal people by Brits.
the strong, whether by numbers or weapons, have always bullied, beaten and killed the weak. Humanity..
and that’s why the aliens won’t talk to us, lol
