some sad news Diesel vom Burgimwald (who is main the Rex dog) has passed away due to cancer during season 7, Izzy and Iko his cousins were stand ins for certain stunts. His nephews Dillon and Dante have taken over the role of Rex. Rex and Diefenbaker (from Due South) are my favourite tv dogs.

The show is pretty formulaic, but the locale (Newfoundland) is quite picturesque and interesting, and the dog is sweet, lovable, and highly intelligent. Reminds me a little of “Republic of Doyle” without all the noise. This could be a pleasant program to while away some time. I see a lot of actors I’ve known from other Canadian programs over the years.
Sad that sometimes Rex is a bitch, reminds me a bit of the vampire saga twilight where all the wolves where female.
Why sad? Likely they have to deal with behavior and cooperation; just a guess.
I do like this crime drama but at times I just want to scream! Jesse gets on my nerves just like Abby & Kasie from NCIS! Sometimes the episodes drag on forever. But this drama is a good filler to watch while I’m waiting for new seasons to start of other crime dramas.
I wonder why a show based in Newfoundland would not have anyone with a Newfi Accent? No one sounds like a Newfoundlander. But, I guess by using basic English they would not have to use subtitles.. Not being disrespectful, I have Newfoundlanders in my family, lots of them..Newfoundland English is like Quebec French. Few people outside the province can really understand it ;=)
