On the night of Jack's house warming party, friends and family party into the early morning, unaware of the "monstrous spirit" who returns to murder them one-by-one, until only his grandson is left to destroy. GRANDPA JACK takes human form and systematically executes the "guests". Having to do battle with the demon, Jack's own memories emerge that have been haunting him for years in nightmares. On one fateful night 23 years ago, three year old Jack Jr. witnessed the gruesome murder of his own mother, Hannah, at the hands of his own grandfather. Having buried the event inside his head, and told over and over that his mother had committed suicide, Jack's life was one of pain and confusion. But now, after breaking a sacred deathbed oath, Jack's own demons re-surface; and he must do battle with the one demon who all but destroyed his life: his own grandfather. In the action-filled climax, Jack Jr. must take on the "spirit" himself to rid the world and himself of this evil. But he finds he can't fight the old bastard alone... and gets help from a shocking source: HIS MOTHER. The "spirit" of Hannah Filice returns to take on the man who brutally killed her, and thus, fights to save the life of the little boy, now a grown man, who is about to die at the hands of the same monster who destroyed her some 20 years ago. The screenplay has received great "buzz" in Hollywood for its fresh take on an established genre; in addition, for its well-rounded characters and yes, wry humor. But THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT is also a terrifying story of violence, family secrets and lies; and creates a world where life and death seem to weld together, where the "afterlife" may not be so "after", afterall.

Confidential (1997), on the novel of the same name by James Ellroy, follows an ambitious internal affairs investigator, a simple but tough patrolman and a morally gray vice squad detective investigating corruption and a mysterious heroin smuggling ring in 1950s L.A. Detective Ed Exley is an ambitious young internal affairs investigator with an influential father, who may or may not have gotten him the job. He is brought in to put corrupt cops under control but only faces mockery and hostility from his peers. Simple but tough patrolman, Bud White, who's still haunted by childhood memories of his father abusing his mother, bravely intervenes when two robbers take a woman hostage in her home, making him an ideal candidate for his precinct's captain's special clandestine police unit. Vice squad detective, Jack Vincennes, is still paying for his crime of killing an innocent man mistaken for a heroin smuggler and covering it up. Each month, he anonymously leaves cash to the murdered man's widow and young son to help support them, and between busting and blackmailing prostitutes and their influential clients, he is still trying to find out who the real smugglers are. Meanwhile, aspiring young actress, Lynn Bracken, arrives in Hollywood and gets invited to a 'who's who' party held by a seedy playboy and mogul, Pierce Patchett. The pilot is narrated by Sid Hudgens, the chief editor of the L.A Confidential tabloid magazine. The pilot ends on a 'to be continued...' note. A juvenile ghost haunts the mountain-pitched castle overlooking sleepy medieval German town Eulenburg ('owl burgh'), one hour after every midnight for centuries, without aging or interacting with people as it's closed at night. However repairs at the clock tower result in the ghost becoming visible, black and active all day. Shy schoolboy Karl gets in trouble for telling the truth as nobody believes the antique watch that disappeared from the castle during his class's visit was stolen by a ghost, so he's the prime suspect. Many town-folk get scary meetings before the case is cleared and the ghost's condition normalized through the clock that upset him.
