DanceDownRiver was filmed on the Colorado River in Grand Canyon in October 2007. Sixteen artists took part in the project, seven dancers, two cinematographers, several musicians, photographers, a painter and a poet. Directed by Jayne Lee, filmed by Norm Shrewsbury and Vin Ray, and danced by Human Nature Dance Theatre, it is a sensuous blend of water, rock and human forms in their natural state, with poetry by Ann Weiler Walka, Mary Oliver and Jayne Lee, music by Barry Guy and Maya Hombuger. The expedition took 18 days to travel 225 miles from Lees Ferry to Diamond Creek. We offer this film as a prayer for the river, all wild places and wild things.
