Stuff of my childhood nightmares; I didn’t understand Dr. Seuss then.
Very strange to see it in color. It’s not a good movie, but when I was young it left strong memories.
Couldn’t remember the name for years.

Me too. I could have written that

This is a weird, weird little film right here. I saw this as a child and it confused the hell out of me, but I found it entertaining anyway. Later I tracked it down, only vaguely remembering it. It’s visually quite striking, lots of bright colours and odd, creeping textures dancing around. Trippy but still child-friendly—- particularly if you’ve got a kid who just loves weird stuff—- I think this film is quite a bit better than the reviews it got when first released. There’s some clunky elements but overall it’s fun.

One of the essential cult/underground/bizarre films of the 195Os - watch it along with the 1964 ‘7 Faces of Dr.Lao’ for added high strangeness!

So true!
You can watch ‘7 Faces of Dr.Lao’ HERE!

Always loved Dr. Seuss since he animated for Looney Tunes, but really love Hans Conried in this. Not really children’s nightmare fuel for us though… That would be Return To Oz with a young Faruza Balk against Mombi.
