Coupled Links is a slice of life story of two siblings left Largely to fend for themselves. With an Absentee mother, the eldest struggles to keep both her and her sisters world from falling apart. She is forced to take on household duties and responsibilities that are typically performed by a parent. Laramee draws on her own life and experiences for the creation of her work. The story, though not biographical, does reflect the filmmakers youth. The film was shot on location in Rene’s home and features her own children in the lead roles. This adds another level of personification to the film for the filmmaker
