A young woman finds solace in the present by turning to the memories of her past. As time goes on the audience starts to regard the idealized past as a way to cultivate her future. Based of the poem ‘Blackberry Picking’ by the incomparable Seamus Heaney. Director Patrick Skeyhill utilizes black-and-white and a lack of dialog to bring attention to the very medium of film itself, in order to question its unquestioned authority for representation and re-presentation. |
