Faraway Downs was originally released as Luhrmann’s 2008 film Australia, which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Costume Design at the 81st Oscars. Luhrmann initially announced he would rework the movie into a six-episode miniseries, complete with a new ending, back in June 2022. November 26th is the date it will be released.
Just as beautiful the third time. 🌈
Great film I am surprised IMDB rating only reached 6.6 This films is a solid 9. It’s a bit of Crocodile Dundee, The Sundowners, and Quigley Down Under all wrapped up in one movie.
Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman did a terrific job with both the comedy and the drama parts of the movie. For me it was the best performance I have seen by Nicole Kidman to date.
I highly recommend this movie and would score it above 5 stars if I could.
In a word, Epic! who says a man cant cry for his love, especially if there is evil run amuck, and then we can throw in some endogenous and world politics too for good measure. It was a good 6 genre (yup 6) story for sure!
