In the early 1990s a story started circulating Central Missouri about a time traveling giant from the future. Two brothers, which I knew, claimed to see a 9ft tall giant driving an old black car through their field. When the brothers confronted the giant, he spoke in a strange language but they understood that he was from the future and was looking for something that was buried on their land. This story would be the inspiration for Flat Black. This work of fiction is based on a real rural legend that many locals recall to this day. |
