If you had the chance to see someone you’d lost, who would you choose? Lost Child is a character story centred around a Chinese Australian mother called Meili. The film is set against the backdrop of urban Sydney, however our main characters speak Cantonese. Meili is a mother caught up in her past.Through a mysterious encounter with a fortune teller, she is given the chance to see a vision- a ‘grown up’ version of her daughter who died as a baby. As Meili’s guilt unfolds it’s revealed she believes her husband (now also passed) was responsible for her daughter’s murder. Can Meili ever forgive herself for what took place so long ago? |
