Holy Tim Blake Nelson too. I must confess it is a slow movie. It takes it’s time addressing the difficulties Lincoln faced and all the effort he put into passing the 13th amendment but without taking the time to see how much push back he faced we would not get the message of what an amazing leader he was. Great movie. 5️⃣⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
wow star studded cast as we used to call it back in the day. Tommy Lee, Hal Holbrook, James Spader, Jeremy Strong and Gloria Rueben. I don’t know why I haven’t watched this yet. It’s going to be epic I’m sure.
I’ve recently decided to concentrate on DDL; watched pretty much all of his movies and the diversity is just breathtaking. He’s just never the same.wow. One thing which jarred me in this movie is how outspoken they made Lincoln’s wife, Mary Todd appear having passionate discussions (and even giving a dressing down) with politicians I just don’t see historically how in that age of time a woman was able to speak that way to men.I understand that it is theatrical drama but I wish they would not put these things in movies just to please today’s viewers.I don’t mind a movie concentrating on men if it’s historically correct.Otherwise a lovely and rousing movie as well as being very educational.
