When Helen discovers her mothers ashes unceremoniously dumped in a biscuit tin at her brother’s house she takes it upon herself to give them a proper burial. Picking up her stroppy, teenage daughter, Issy, from school she drives to the cemetery where her beloved father is resting in peace. Waking up on the backseat, Issy follows her mum to the gravesite only to find her knees deep in mud desperately digging a hole to bury the tin. A simple story of love, loss and letting go, After Eights looks at three generations of women and the impact they had on each others lives. |
