In preparing for the opening of their latest addition to Philadelphia’s highly competitive culinary scene, Percy Street BBQ, restaurateurs Mike Solomonov and Steven Cook, along with head chef Erin O’Shea travel to Texas with their close knit group of family and friends in search of the secrets of real Texas barbecue. After the resounding success of Zahav, an Israeli inspired restaurant in Old City Philadelphia, which garnered such awards as a James Beard nomination, Philly Magazine, Food and Wine, and Bon Appetit ‘Best Of’s’, the pressure is on. Eating their way through cities and dust bowl towns alike, with hours spent hopelessly lost on lonely Texas hill country roads, will the Percy Street crew fulfill their singular mission; to find the perfect brisket. |
