Two groups of men visit a local watering hole for a night of celebration, comradery, and serious drinking. One group is celebrating the coming marriage of their friend Ben, while the others celebrate financial milestones reached on the job. With the arrival of an attractive, seemingly flirtatious female, each man’s scheme for the evening becomes somewhat skewed. The debauchery that was only joked about a moment earlier takes on the guise of possibility. Alcohol intake further lubricates the machinations of each man’s desire, allowing the fantasy to appear attainable. The female character, captivating yet guileless, plays along, seemingly ignorant of the tumult she’s creating. The characters, who began the evening with the best intentions, find themselves by the film’s conclusion, spent and defeated men. |
