Hit the Road is a film about groups and not belonging to groups. The drama takes place in an efficient, faceless school environment, where three members of the school staff are feeling uncomfortable in the brutal embrace of this uncommunity. They don’t feel like they belong. The deprecated principal Raimo Johansson dreams of being the respected leader of his school. The psychology teacher and school psychologist Tapani Vuori would like to get by just being himself. But that’s something only the maths teacher Simo Korhonen can do. Korhonen thrives in his realm of mathematics, his innocence and naivety shining through the cynical school… until a pair of red female knickers is found in his classroom. Directed by Arttu Haglund, the short film features Panu Tuomikko, two-time Jussi (Finnish Oscar) winner Tommi Korpela and Harry Viita in its leading roles. The movie has been produced as the final thesis of two students of TAMK University of Applied Sciences, School of Art and Media. |
