Based on actual events - Three Rivers is a gritty true-crime thriller about a troubled, pregnant 19 year old who was raped and robbed at gunpoint while working at a convenience store. Persecuted by local police and accused of committing the robbery with her drug-dealer boyfriend and fabricating the assault, she’s thrown in jail even as the real villain, a serial rapist, continues assaulting women across three states during a nearly decade-long crime spree. After her assailant’s eventual capture, Sara struggles to put her life back together by confronting the police force that failed her, the family and friends who doubted her, and testifying before the Senate to ultimately change the Federal Rape Laws. |
