End of the 19 Century: It’s Winter, on a small farm, in the mountains, two mentally and physically abused siblings live with their father, their abuser. The older sister (Maria) attempts to avoid any conflicts with her father. Her little brother (Karl) has fallen silently into a anxiety and shock fueled state as he tries to block out the world around him. Both live in constant fear of their habitually father’s unpredictable anger. Their situation seems hopeless until one day their father becomes injured. His life then becomes dependent on Maria’s and Karls help - is this finally the opportunity to put an end to their fear? |
