Having returned home from military service only to find his old life had left him behind, Don shelters himself from social interaction by immersing himself as an amateur ham radio operator. When an old service injury resurfaces, he is called upon by a young female Muslim doctor who does not command his respect. Through their interaction over the course of the doctor’s checkup and a cup of tea, barriers between them fall, and are broken down as he shares his passion for ham radio with her. The film explores the issues of latent racism and the physical and mental aspects of post-traumatic stress, together with ways in which they can be overcome through medical care and friendship.
