Sophia, a French student in Kyoto, is struggling in forgetting her dream to become a writer, when she encounters Aya, a Maiko on her way to become a Geisha. The latter dreams to leave the Geisha world and go to Paris, in order to study acting, but she is forbidden to do so by her mother. Sophia decides then to help her with the application forms. Aya’s mother finds out about her project and tries to stop her, but Aya fights for her dream and succeeds. Inspired by Aya’s courage, Sophia starts to write again.
