A young man ties a balloon to a young woman’s hand on the Norwegian national day. She has read that if it flies away, it will explode in the sky. The small pieces of the balloon will fall back into the ocean, and the fishes will eat it and die. Therefore she doesn’t want to untie the balloon from her hand. Not even when she’s running in the park or sleeping in her bed. Not even after he has left her. Helium is a poetic story about how hard it can be to let go of the past. |
