Set in 16th Century France, the movie, Germaine: Requiem of a Soul, recounts the life of Saint Germaine Cousin, a poor shepherd girl who was physically and mentally abused by her stepmother and ostracized from society due to an unsightly skin condition. Though shunned and abused, her forgiving spirit and closeness to Jesus allowed her to transcend her physical suffering, and grow in holiness. Through the strength of her faith and her generous compassion, she performed many miracles, and was exhumed intact forty years after her death. |
